and unloading fees, this amount falls into the pockets of foreign shipping lines, which account for 99% of the volume. container import and export of Vietnam.

<p style="text-align: change the fact that some types of Vietnam seaport service charges are lower than regional seaports (lower than the service prices at Cambodian seaports), the Ministry of Transport is developing a draft circular amending the April 54, 2018 on the framework of seaport service charges in Vietnam.

Commenting on the draft, Hai Phong Port General Director Nguyen Tuong Anh said that the current price of container loading and unloading services at Vietnamese seaports is too low compared to ports in the region. Therefore, seaports are proposing to increase container loading and unloading prices by 10% from 2021, then increase by 10% annually until 2023.

Mr. Pham Quoc Long, deputy deputy director of the Vietnam Container Ship Owners Association (Vietnam Association of Ship Owners - VSA) said that if the price of loading and unloading containers at seaports increases, logistics costs will not increase. use of Vietnam. Due to the fact that some types of fees the owner collected from the shipper is higher than the amount payable to the port.

This position cited, currently, each import-export container, the ship owner collects over 120 USD of loading and unloading costs at the port, but only has to pay for the Vietnamese port from 40-50 USD / container (depending on the port); Shipowners benefit from 55-80 USD / container. While 99% of the market share of Vietnam's exports and imports currently falls into the hands of foreign shipping companies, each year Vietnam's seaports suffer about $ 1 billion.

With the cost of loading and unloading domestic containers, according to Mr. Long, it is also low, so it is necessary to increase to support the ports. Accompanying that is the enforcement of supervision to avoid unfair competition from domestic shipping lines, reducing freight rates below cost.

VSA Secretary General Bui Van Trung said that because port service prices, especially container loading and unloading prices are too low, for large ports such as Cai Meo - Thi Vai, even though operating beyond capacity, the financial picture still does not some good. Therefore, although the increase in port service charges may be affected by shipping lines, it is necessary to increase to ensure costs for ports, attracting investment in ports.

“Currently, most of the Vietnamese shipping companies are doing seaports, so the costs are offset. Stemming from common interests, we think that the increase in port service charges is reasonable, in the direction of approaching ports in the region. We are always in favor of lowering prices, but declining to pull together to bottom shouldn't be. Now raising the port service price is to coexist, "Trung said.

According to the representative of VSA, in the context of the COVID-19 epidemic the past, the world seaports have reduced the output of goods, in Vietnam alone, still increasing, foreign shipping lines still have good profits from Vietnam. Mr. Trung only commented on lowering the price of pilotage and tugboat services to support businesses.

On the side of shippers, General Secretary of the Association of Shippers (VNSC) Phan Thong also supports the principle of needing to increase a number of seaport service prices. However, it is necessary to better control the post-port costs in order not to increase prices, not to increase the total logistic costs of manufacturing enterprises, to ensure competition. According to Mr. Thong, these service prices should be increased only after 2021, to support manufacturing businesses affected by COVID-19 epidemic.

Deputy Minister of Transport Nguyen Van Cong said that the increase of some seaport service prices this time is basically a part of the money back for Vietnamese businesses, which for a long time foreign shipping lines have benefited. Therefore, increasing the prices of these services will not increase logistics costs, nor will it affect the domestic consumer price index. However, according to Mr. Cong, seaports need to improve their services, to compete with seaports in the region not only on price. The leaders of the Ministry of Transport assigned the Maritime Administration to receive the opinions of enterprises and soon complete the draft circular for the Ministry to report to the Government before signing for promulgation.

https://www.tmchanoi.com/datafiles/74364/upload/images/news/moi-nam-cac-cang-bien-viet-nam-that-thu-1-ty-usd-phi-boc-do-container-a.jpg?t=1757472788
https://www.tmchanoi.com/datafiles/74364/upload/thumb_images/news/moi-nam-cac-cang-bien-viet-nam-that-thu-1-ty-usd-phi-boc-do-container-a.jpg?t=1757472788
each year Vietnamese seaports lose USD 1 billion in fees for loading and unloading containers","Vietnamese seaports","containers
https://www.tmchanoi.com/every-year-vietnamese-seaports-lose-usd-1-billion-in-container-handling-fees.html
Trade surplus for the first time in the year is lower than expected

Compared with the estimated trade surplus of 3.5 billion USD given by the General Statistics Office, the realized figure was only 2.96 billion USD because exports were lower than expected, while imports increased sharply.

According to statistics of the General Department of Customs, the total value of Vietnam's exports and imports in September 2020 reached US $ 51.37 billion, up 1.9% from the previous month. However, compared with other countries in the region and the world, this is still quite growth.

The results were low but positive in the new situation

There will be many views that at a record low level, it cannot be said that Vietnam has done well or that we still have the spirit of "selfie", self-encouragement, and self-praise.

In fact, although the growth is low, but the correlation picture in the general picture under the COVID-19 influence globally and in the region, it is clear that Vietnam has done too well.

TS. Jacques Moriset, Chief Economist of the World Bank (WB) in Vietnam, cited the WTO bloc's forecast that global trade in 2020 would decline by 13-35%, even if there is a recovery in recent months. Another figure from UNCTAD representing developing economies also recorded that FDI worldwide in 2020 was estimated to decrease by 20-30%.

Vietnam with large economic openness, GDP growth in previous years has made a great contribution from import and export - In a wave of decline, even recession and breakdown of global supply chain, low growth of Vietnam Nam has thus been recognized as being similar to Vietnam's success in controlling COVID-19 and becoming one of the leading ASEAN countries in disease security.

Notably in the third quarter, economic areas showed better signs than the second quarter and were the driving force for the country's overall economic growth.

Two long-term advantages of Vietnam

According to the General Statistics Office, in the third quarter and the first three quarters of 2020, the "reallocation" in the contribution to the GDP growth rate of all sectors also changes under the COVID-19 impact. While the industrial sector and the focus areas have low growth, clearly reflecting the story of global supply chain failures that cannot be "patched" and restructured even when Vietnam depends on the countries in the chain.

But the growth of the agriculture, forestry and fishery sector stood at 2.93% in the third quarter and overall, up 1.84% - showing that even though the sector was not epidemic, it was still affected by Asian climate and cholera, but still has the light of the core pillar. And this is due to the domestic initiative, which is also one of the factors that when the countries "clump", Vietnam with a thousand-year advantage in agricultural economy, is not the old advantage. Moreover, this advantage will be even more useful and clearly shown in the early days of the EVFTA Agreement - helping Vietnam expand agricultural space and other areas, in the large EU market.

Another advantage of Vietnam is its flexibility and always actively anticipate all new trends. In particular, although Vietnam lags behind in technology, Vietnam soon adapt and even take the initiative to "take a short cut" to integrate with one of the catalysts to help the economy not only overcome difficulties caused by epidemics. The disease has time and long-distance development, it is a digital tool. This advantage comes from both the Government's policies and policies to soon build a digital government and the digital economy of the Government, but equally important is the willingness to adapt and grasp and apply digitalization of businesses, especially. of people.

Commenting at a forum on Vietnam's Economy that took place recently, PhD. Jacques Moriset pointed out three catalysts in the new strategic direction, helping to optimize the impact of global value on Vietnam, namely the pricing mechanism, digital instrument and coordination mechanism.

Perhaps in the core advantage of the economy that is easy to promote localization and has the opportunity to diversify new products, markets and businesses, Vietnam is holding the key to core advantage and core catalysis. And it must also be frank that even though it is just a catalyst, the other two factors are reflecting the bottlenecks of Vietnam's economy that, if removed, will become leverage, spread comprehensively and promote initiation. our identity in the long run.

Dr. Cao Viet Sinh - Former Deputy Minister of Planning and Investment:

To achieve 2% growth by 2020, we still need to note the current difficulties of the economy. A fairly clear manifestation is that the economy has an export surplus of 17 billion USD after 9 months, while the export growth is only 4.2%, reaching over 202 billion USD. If the export surplus is high in the context of continued double-digit growth, that is too good. But here, the trade surplus is due to the decrease in imports. The failure of the supply chain has caused this situation, it is more difficult for Vietnamese enterprises to import input materials. This will make it difficult for production and business.

Mr. Duong Manh Hung - Director of Department of National Accounts System (General Statistics Office):

The disbursement of public investment capital still has plenty of room for growth, thereby making an important contribution to the overall economic growth of the country. Normally, in the last quarter of the year, public investment disbursement increased faster than the first quarters of the year. This is an important driving force for the economy to achieve a higher growth rate in the fourth quarter. Realized investment capital from the state budget in nine months was estimated at VND 303,000 billion, up 33.3% over the same period last year.

https://www.tmchanoi.com/datafiles/74364/upload/images/news/duong-dai-cho-kinh-te-viet-nam-a.jpg?t=1757472788
https://www.tmchanoi.com/datafiles/74364/upload/thumb_images/news/duong-dai-cho-kinh-te-viet-nam-a.jpg?t=1757472788
long-haul for the Vietnamese economy","Vietnam economy","economy
"widget_15113310":
NEWS"}},"widget_15162154":
Thông tin"}},"widget_15162163":
links"}},"widget_15162161":
"widget_15162166":
services"}},"widget_15162170":
subscribe"}},"widget_15162172":
Subscribe to get our latest new and update"}},"widget_15162175":
Đăng ký"}},"widget_15208327":

Copyright © 2015 Thamilog All rights reserved.

"}},"widget_15113756":
"}},"widget_15165264":
